Seussical: the Musical, which is based on Dr. Seuss's beloved characters, made the news even before its Broadway opening, as tales of disastrous out-of-town tryouts multiplied and creative turmoil abounded. But the show has its fans--Rosie O'Donnell, for one, likes it so much that she jumped in to play the Cat in the Hat for a month while Roger Bart was on vacation. And guess what? As conceived by Ragtime's Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Seussical isn't nearly as bad as its reputation would suggest. While Junior digs the familiar characters, Mom and Dad will notice that "A Day for the Cat in the Hat" could be an outtake from Cabaret--if that show had been rated G, of course--while "It's Possible" suddenly turns into an Elton John-type romp midway through. Easy on the ear and very pop, this is a kid-friendly cast album that won't insult an adult's intelligence. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Some of the songs I liked but I'm sorta glad the City re-emburst me for the purchase. We have what is called Thursdays Nights On the Square and we used it for our Dr. We actually used this soundtrack for an event that my City was putting on. I would have only bought three songs by my own. Seuss Night. It work great. Horten the Elephant is actually a good song and the intro is cool. I was happy to find a new copy of this soundtrack. Price and shipping were good. Received on time.
My daughter is currently rehearsing for this musical and the CD has been GREAT. My other 2 kids enjoy it too and they are 2 and 4. They love the music and are able to put the words to the books in their head and then act out what they are hearing. It's a great investment.
My daughter is a cast member in 'Seussical the Musical' which is premiering in South Africa next month. This CD is a high quality recording of the entire show and is proving very useful for perfecting her songs. It is a delightful musical with some catchy lyrics and music. Children and their parents will love it.
Great music for kids. I am always looking for music to use in dance recitals and this CD was perfect, especially for Tap dance which I have the most difficulty finding new music to accompany.
